JANUARY FAVOURITES

Wednesday, 1 February 2017

It's the first of February and January is officially over, so I thought this would be a good time to take a look at my favourite things from the past month. I love reading 'monthly favourites' blog posts, and I think they're a great way to discover new products to try. So here are my January favourites! I've even included links, in case you spot something you'd like to get your hands on...

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

My skin is really sensitive when it comes to face cleansers, so I'm always a bit hesitant when trying a new one, but this did not disappoint and it's now become part of my daily cleansing routine. First off, it's great at removing even waterproof make-up, but it's also super gentle on your skin. It's almost hard to believe that such a gentle product can be so effective. But this micellar water isn't just great at removing your make-up at the end of a long day, it's a great spot-banishing product too. I used to suffer with a lot of spots on my forehead, probably to be blamed on my fringe, but the micellar water has really helped sort this out. I don't know how it does it, maybe it's magic, maybe it's unicorn tears, or maybe the science buffs over at Garnier just did something clever. Either way, I'm sold. It's great at refreshing and cleansing your face, and even their 125ml 'mini format' bottle lasts a long time (and it's the perfect size to shove in your bag), so it's definitely one I'd recommend.

Vaseline Lip Therapy - Rosy Lips

Winter is an absolute killer for my lips, and the two hour commute in the freezing cold to uni in the mornings doesn't exactly help. That's where my Vaseline Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips comes in. Not only does it help to relieve and protect dry chapped lips, but it gives them a gorgeous rosy tint too (and on top of that, it smells beautiful). I love that you can hydrate and protect your lips while still giving them a subtle pop of colour. This product is an absolute dream, and I always make sure I have it with me now.

Lush Bath Bomb - Sex Bomb

The holiday season is always a bit of a whirlwind for me, so in January I like to take the time to slow things down, relax and rejuvenate, and what better way to do that than with a nice long bath? I'm a huge fan of all things Lush, but I especially love their bath bombs and I got quite a sizeable collection for Christmas. I might be slightly cheating with this one, as I've tried it before and it's one of my favourites, but having a bath with their Sex Bomb bath bomb really helped me unwind after the busy holiday period. This bomb is great for helping you relax, and turns the bath water a beautiful shade of pink, complete with a 3D floating rose. It also smells amazing, but then again what Lush bath bomb doesn't?

Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick - Possessed Plum, Nude Flush, Rebel Red

I'm a fan of matte lipsticks, and I find the liquid formulas a bit easier to apply. Maybelline's line of matte liquid lipsticks are my current favourite, and I've worn them quite a bit throughout January. The formula is really smooth and easy to apply, and the colour stays vibrant on your lips for hours. I do have to reapply at some point during the day, but it really depends on what I'm doing and how I want the colour to look. Possessed Plum has got to be my favourite at the moment, I just love the dark berry shade, but all three are lovely colours and no doubt I'll expand my collection during the year.

Yankee Candle Reed Diffuser - Vanilla Satin

I love a good reed diffuser, I think they're a great way to give a room a subtle perfume lift. I originally wanted to try the Pink Sands scent but it was sold out and so I went for this one, but I'm so glad I did. This reed diffuser has got to be the best one I've tried so far and it's now my absolute favourite. In true Yankee fashion, it has a gorgeous fragrance that carries throughout the room without being overpowering, and also has an attractive design on the vase which I absolutely love. It makes a chic addition to any room, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Sanctuary Spa Cleansing Burst Body Wash

Last on my list is this body wash from Sanctuary. Their products always smell great, and this body wash is no exception. It lathers up well with a lovely fragrance, and I love the moisturising capsules which leave my skin feeling silky smooth. A little really does go a long way with this, so I can see it lasting me a good while. I sometimes get dry skin after a shower, but this conditions my skin and leaves it smelling great too, which is what I want from a good body wash. It's refreshing and a great way to add a bit of luxury to your shower.

So those are my favourites from January! Hope you enjoyed the read, and let me know what you've been loving the past month!
